On Thursday morning, July 24th, Cherrystone Family Resort was struck by a fast-moving storm that resulted in a tornado that made it's way across Cherrystone. The storm toppled trees, damaged property, flipped RVs and injured campers. A couple lost their lives when a tree fell on them during the storm.
The days since this devastating storm have been fraught with tragedy and true inspiration. We are overwhelmed by all of the responders and the volunteers who have come to assist during this difficult time. As we attempt to clean up and move forward, our thoughts and prayers are daily with the families of the couple who lost their lives and with all of our guests who were injured. A fund has been established for the three children of the couple who perished at PNC Bank. All monies contributed will be distributed to the court-appointed legal guardian of the children.
